I love the modern era of art.  And I believe the recognition of its influence on the motivations and values of today's best contemporary artists lends a stronger appreciation for art's boundlessness.  It's easier to find a piece of yourself in the art you love when you can recognize its capacity for connection.

vohkl is a passion project.  I write about artists I admire, artists I believe are pulling art forward.  I think they are worth talking about.  I hope this becomes a platform for their support.  I'd love to hear what you think too.

I am based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  There is so much art history here, so much art passion.  Its an incredible place to be reminded that obscurity does not diminish impact.
